History You’ve Probably Forgotten

Allen June 13th, 2006

I’m glad to see that the Great Christian Riots of 2006 have finally settled down. Who can forget the shocking images of packs of roaming Christians smashing windows and burning effigies of Ron Howard in the streets. And few can forget the Pope’s call for Dan Brown to be "torched alive so that he may feel the pain of hell that awaits him and others like him."

Now that President Bush called out the National Guard and restored order to the streets, it is time to reflect on what lead up to this cataclismic event. I think if just "The Da Vinci Code" alone had been released, things wouldn’t have gotten so mean spirited as they did. I think it was also the concurrent release of the slasher film "See No Evil". These two films combined created such a sense of outrage among Christians that they were not able to contain their rage and resulted in the carnage that we have witnessed in the streets the past few weeks.

I think now Hollywood will reconsider their two, new upcoming films — "Napolean Buddah" and "Mohammadammadingdong."

Perhaps not.
