In Prayer We Find Our Hope

Allen July 7th, 2005

David sent the following out to family and friends.  Edited somewhat for spelling and grammer (sigh), I quote:

After seeing the attacks on London I would like to say a few words.
In today’s society we suffer from many terrorist attacks from extremist groups.  While they attack with hatred and weapons, we must respond with an equal amount of love.  That is not to say that we should not stand up or "fight back", but it is important to remember how we can truly defeat terrorism.  No matter how many countries we invade, no matter how many extremist groups we destroy, there will always be terrorists and terrorism.
Prayer is the solution.  Pray for our soldiers who fight for our freedom.  Pray for our leaders that they will make good decisions.  Pray for the families that are affected as we all are.  Finally pray for peace among all nations.
Pray to God, believe in God, and protect our freedom.
God acts in many ways.  He will want to hear your voice.

But They That Wait Upon The Lord

shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

–Isaiah 40:31

Today my son completed his 2nd Board of Review and is now and will forever be an Eagle Scout.

I am so very thankful that God granted me such a wonderful son like David.

Rule 0: Write This Down

Allen July 6th, 2005

Mike Duffy has transcribed at least a few of Swanson’s Unwritten Rules of Management.  Check out his list, and if you like what you read, order the book (for free) from Raytheon.

Apparently it started from an article in Business 2.0 (pdf).

My favorite rule is: Look for what is missing.  Many know how to improve what’s there; few can see what isn’t there.
