"Here's Johnny" becomes "Who's Johnny?" I think the more "interconnected" and "hip" a piece is, the more quickly dated it becomes. I can remember seeing old Warner Brother Cartoons with loads of references to stars of the 40-50s era. Rather dull without current context. So someday the current crop of tattoo/body piercing youth will hit their 40s or 50s. What was once trend-setting and edgy will become creepy and freaky to the "with-it and hip" crowd of tomorrow. Big wheel keeps on toinin', you know?
