I too had to give up such a relationship that I had been in for too long of a time. I decided to kick my lover out after seeing how I was harming my relationship with my wife and kids. It was a difficult choice, but my family supported my decision.
It’s been almost 9 years. I still spot my former lover in bars and in restaurants. I used to pine away for this former love when spotted, but now it bothers me more than anything else.
